First Day Onboarding Checklist
Onboarding Checklist includes four essential steps that create clarity, reduce risk, and accelerate intern productivity from Day 1.
Watch this short video tutorial to see how the Onboarding Checklist appears on your dashboard.
Step 1: Schedule an Onboarding Call
Many supervisors schedule this call before the official start date.
Use the call to:
- Welcome the intern and introduce team culture
- Clarify expectations, communication norms, and working rhythms
- Review the internship project and success indicators
👉 See the Onboarding Guide for additional tips.
Step 2: Review the Intern’s Profile
Review the intern’s profile again in your company dashboard to confirm:
- Skills and experience
- Career goals and preferences
- Relevant academic or industry background
Step 3: Set Up Access and Essential Tools
Provide access to required systems on Day 1.
This may include:
- Company email
- Slack or Microsoft Teams
- Zoom or Google Meet
- Shared drives
- Project management tools
Early access removes friction and enables immediate contribution.
Step 4: Confirm Project Scope
Walk through the project details with the intern, including:
- Overall goal
- Weekly deliverables
- Milestones and timelines
- How success will be measured
Clear scope supports independent work and steady progress.
